Keep walking..

In the summer of 2006, Lebanon suffered from a war.
Its primary source of income: tourism, was cut off. The country's infrastructure was heavily damaged.
Hotels, resorts and restaurants had zero income and many businesses went bankrupt during a summer when they should have seen around $2 billion in profits.

A lot of people, including my 2 younger brothers and I, had to escape through Syria.

Two months later I come back and saw with my own eyes what I had seen on TV before. A whole part of Beirut ravaged, all main bridges broken and that's not even mentioning the destruction in the south of Lebanon.

And then I saw this advertisement on a really big building next to one of Lebanon's biggest highways.
A lot of people surely had really bad accidents. By looking back on the incident we can learn from its mistakes, that is the way to move forward and learn how to examine ourselves before pointing fingers in blame.

Lebanon is not only economically in debt, it's unstable politically...I hope it keeps progressing like it has been during these past two months; learning from its mistakes and not repeating them.

Rod i have to tell you that i really feel the same way that you do and hope our country could evolve and stand up on his feet again some day. But i personally think that to a country to stand up on his feet, his entire population should be on the same page and set their land as the prior goal. And that my friend is far from the reality, i know a lot of people(by people i mean my lovely Dandoush) think of this as losing Faith hope and all of that ...but what I'm really asking myself, is there enough that connects the Lebanese people to each other, to make it through?...sometimes i doubt it...i hope i'm wrong but i doubt it

PS: i know rod that you'd hate to have a political debate on your blog, especially if I'm involvedTong , but i cant control myself rod...look my hands are shaking
